iGlow Mentoring presents “Pink Pearls & Pretty Dresses: Girls Empowerment Brunch” featuring Olympic Gold Medalist Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas. The star-studded event is Sunday October 14, 2012 from 12:00pm-4:00pm at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. The brunch serves as a fundraiser for iGlow’s “Girls Empowerment Retreat”, being held November 10-12, 2012 at the Lake Williamson Conference Center in Carlinville, Illinois. The event will include a full brunch, silent auction, and entertainment. iGlow Mentoring invites mothers and daughters (aged 10-19) to adorn in pink pearls and pretty dresses, for an opportunity to enjoy an atmosphere of sophistication and empowerment.
iGlow Mentoring is honored to have Gabrielle Douglas and her mother, Ms. Natalie Hawkins, speak to their youth during her first visit to Chicago. Not long ago Gabrielle “Gabby” Douglas wowed the world with her gold-medal worthy performance at the 2012 London Olympics. As a result, she had made an impression on young girls all across the world. Empowering young girls to fight for their dreams and maintain confidence in their physical appearance.
Gabby says, “We’re all champions and we’re all winners.” That’s a prolific statement from a 16-year-old.
Be empowered as this dynamic mother-daughter team shares their story of sacrifice and determination. The unyielding determination of a 16-year-old gymnast, Gabby, who dared to leave her hometown and her family of Virginia Beach to train with an elite coach and pursue her dreams in West Des Moines, Iowa. Her sacrifice resulted in the ultimate reward: the Olympic All-Around Gold Medal!
This event promises to be memorable for everyone in attendance. iGlow Mentoring welcomes the participation of local businesses and media. All media and vendors that would like to get involved in this and any future iGlow Mentoring events through sponsorship, promotion, or service, should contact Vau’ve A. Davis at vdavis@OfficialAnaisPR.com.
